As simple as stick figures...

Happy day to all! My name is Kathy and I head up the Marketing Team. We're the ones writing, creating, communicating and promoting for the credit union. One of our biggest challenges (as is really a challenge for the credit union industry in general) is helping people understand the difference between banks and credit unions.

"I already have a bank account, why do I need a credit union?"
"Do I have to belong to a union to be a member?"
"What on earth does it mean to BE a member?"

We hear these types of comments all the time. And admittedly, we grapple with how to explain the difference. Then along came a young lady named Larissa who blew us all out of the water with her simple yet straight-to-the-core explanation on how we're different. Larissa created this video as the spokester for Young & Free Alberta, the brainchild of Currency Marketing and Common Wealth Credit Union (now part of Servus Credit Union, located in Alberta, Canada), created entirely to get young people talking.
